Note: Graduate applicants who apply and are provisionally accepted either by submitting unofficial transcripts or before completing their undergraduate degree must submit a final transcript indicating the degree received and the date conferred. This official transcript must be on file within eight weeks from the beginning of the student"s starting term for full acceptance to the University.

To be considered official, transcripts must be received by Webster University directly from the issuing institution. If the student is to deliver transcripts, they must be in sealed, unopened envelopes and certified with the official seal of the issuing institution. Official transcripts may also be directed electronically using an approved safe transmission by sending to transcripts@webster.edu. Official transcripts must be sent directly to the main campus in St. Louis and other documents pertaining to admission should be sent directly to the campus to which the student applied and/or currently attends.

Provisional Admission: This may be granted to students without a transcript on file whose cumulative GPA is 2.5 or higher; however an official copy of the degree conferred transcript must be received before any federal financial aid may be disbursed and before the student may register for classes for the second term of enrollment at Webster. Upon receipt of the official transcript from the institution awarding the baccalaureate degree, the student will receive a full graduate admission decision with any conditions such as "conditional basis" acceptance noted, based on the final GPA.

Admission Requirements

Programming for Games, Web & Mobile

A technical portfolio that contains 1-3 examples of programming work.
Show us your code! Include a 1-2 page excerpt of source code you want to show off, and a 1-page descriptive summary for each project. You must also have intermediate PC computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Familiarity with HTML is an asset. You"ll find information on how to send your portfolio in the application form, or you can ask your Advisor.

Successful completion of one of the following VFS programs: Foundation Visual Art + Design, Game Design, Digital Design, 3D Animation + Visual Effects
When you talk to your Advisor, let them know which VFS program you"ve completed and they will put a copy of your diploma in your file for you.

Universal Requirements


You must have graduated from high school, or be at least 19 years of age
You can provide the names and contact details of two references
- Preferably these should be from someone who can knowledgeably comment on your passion and abilities in the area for which you are applying. Please note, family members are not eligible as references.
You have a financial plan
- All VFS programs are full-time, so you’ll need a financial plan to cover your tuition and living expenses while enrolled in your program. (Don"t worry. Your advisor can guide you through this).
You must have medical coverage
- For Canadians - check with your home province for coverage in BC.
- For non-Canadians - you will need to purchase health insurance until you are covered under the Medical Services Plan.

After three months of living in BC, all students are eligible for Medical Services Plan coverage.

Proof that you meet the English language requirements

In order to succeed in any VFS program, you will need to understand technical terms and be able to participate in presentations and in-depth discussions in English. Depending upon your program of study, you must meet either the Level 1 or Level 2 English language requirements. See the International Students page for more information.
